Reader, I Married Me!
Yes, you read that right. Reader, I Married Me! is a beautifully created fiction book about the Author’s own self wedding journey... I can hear your cogs turning already. ‘What do you mean a self-wedding?’ It’s exactly how it sounds. Sophie Tanner married herself, and her book takes you on a journey of love, laughter, tears and heartache to tell the most empowering story I’ve ever read.
If you are a person who struggles with self-confidence, toxic friendships & relationships and generally are struggling to know who you really are, then this book will truly change your life. It’s changed mine.
The main character, Chloe, discovers her long-term boyfriend is not only a commitment-phobe, but perpetrates the ultimate betrayal... that is enough to turn anyone off marrying the man they always thought was their one true love. Chloe’s BFF Dom takes her under his wing and during one booze-filled evening, Chloe (also a blogger) drafts a blog post about how she may as well just marry herself. After all, who can be more responsible for one’s happiness?
Little did she know, her blog post hits the big time. It’s gone viral. Everyone now thinks Chloe is going to orchestrate a self-wedding. With the encouragement of her inner circle, she decides this might not be a bad idea after all.
Breaking the news to some of her family members doesn’t go to plan, but Chloe half expected that anyway. Same with her old uni mates, who, may I add, are mutual friends with Chloe’s now ex. But nevertheless, with the support and love from new (and surprising) friends along her journey, Chloe manages to pull off her dream wedding day whilst making the ultimate promise to always put herself first. Her emotions and feelings, her self care, her happiness.
About the Author
Sophie Tanner blogs about her own self-love journey (including her real life self wedding!) on her blog imarriedme.co.uk. If you need a little help with feeling like the girl boss you are, read her blog posts and this book and you’ll soon feel empowered. You will soon feel like you know Sophie through her character in Reader, I Married Me! (Chloe). Sophie’s style of writing is so relateable to the mid-20’s to early 40’s crowd, and I was almost transported into the story and I deffo want to be Chloe’s new bezzie mate.
