*Disclaimer* In no way have I been paid to write this blog - I love this app so much that I thought it deserved to be shared with my audience! Hopefully you will love it as much as I do! I am not affiliated with luckytrip and all opinions are my own.
LuckyTrip App - The easiest and most unique booking app on the market.
If you are yet to download this addictive app and try it for yourself, where have you been? Under a rock?! For those of you who are a little travel mad, like myself, you need this app in your life.... now.
Available for download on both apple and android devices, this app will change the way you travel - forever!
In this blog post I am going to share with you my experience of booking our 24 Hours in Naples trip via luckytrip. As you, my readers, will know by now that I am making 2019 my year of travel, and thanks to this app - the stress and travel anxiety I usually experience has been dramatically reduced all thanks to the masterminds behind this creation. Let me explain how below:
I first came across the luckytrip app on instagram - I have linked their page here. If you love beautifully taken and brightly coloured travel inspo pics - you'll be all over their profile. It's pure 'gram goals! I downloaded the app on my iPhone, created an account and started getting lucky! (That will make sense further down the blog post).
Creating an account is easy-peasy. You can connect your facebook to it or login using your email address and creating a password. From here you will be directed to the screen below. This is the home screen where you can find links to their latest featured trips, blog posts on their ways to save money whilst abroad or even their most unusual travel destinations and loads more. On this screen you can use the filters tab to set your preffered airport(s), you can let the app choose your dates or set the calendar to look for specific dates (for those of you who work full time this is an ideal feature as you can search the dates when you have guaranteed time off) and then lastly you can select how many people the trip is for.
The Best Bit - Getting Lucky!
Once you have created an account and set all the filters to how you want it - you can now get lucky! There is a big button that says 'Lucky' - you cant miss it, it's massive and red - and it gives you all the excitement of waiting for what trip the app will throw at you. I pressed this button 425 times in total (warning - it's addictive!) before I decided that we were going to Naples.
Now the best bit begins. If you are a bit lost for inspiration on where to travel to next - this app gives you all the best ideas. There were even places that I've never considered travelling to before coming up, including Naples.
The app builds together the perfect package for you. It separates the screen into three. The top screen is your destination, the middle screen is the accomodation (you can swipe left on this to change accomodations if the first one isn't for you) and lastly, which is the best bit for me, is the recommended activity to do in the location. The activity is usually something unusual, like visiting the doll museum in Naples. Random - but very cool. You can also select alternative flights on this screen too - if you swipe up for 'more details' here you can read all the features of the accomodation and then select on the flights to see if there are any alternative flights to suit you better. For me, the ones that were already selected were perfect.
What Happens After you Book?
I am a big advocate for excellent customer service. Running my own business outside of my blog means that I pride myself on customer service and I can make judgments on companies I deal with based on how they deal with me as a consumer. I can honestly say the LuckyTrip staff have their customer service nailed.
I straight away got a booking confirmation listing the dates, flight times, accomodation and price I had paid. I do believe this is a standard confirmation email. I had a few email echanges with Lara, and she was brilliant over email and answered all my queries, thank you Lara.
48 Hours before travel I recieved another email with our boarding cards attached. SO easy - saved me a job having to checkin online as it was all done for me! The next day I recieved the return boarding passes along with the telephone number and address of the hotel we were staying in. Details that are important to me being a nervous traveller (I had already got this info myself, but now I know luckytrip sort it for you I won't worry about getting it next time!).
How Did the Trip GO?
Everything went perfectly. From start to finish. Hooray!
The flights were perfect - the only criticism I could have, and this is kinda being picky, was there was no option at booking to select extra leg room. My husband is 6ft10 (I know, massive) and on our outbound journey we were moved into the emergency seats with the leg rooom - I know, Jammy right, but on the way back he was squashed into a regular seat on a Ryanair flight which was funny for me to see, but not for him or his legs. Bless him.
The accomodation was perfect too. You can read my review on the Carten Napoli here. I would highly recommend this accomodation to anyone booking to stay in Naples. I would never have thought to look for a local B&B if it wasnt for lucktrip though. I am usually a stickler for staying in the hotels that are a chain. But not anymore!!
The best bit for me about this whole booking experience, was the price. It cost me less than a night in a hotel in London would have cost us - and that was for flights too. Amazing.
So, basically you should download this app and see for yourself how user-friendly and easy this makes travel. The whole concept behnd the luckytrip app is right up my street. Even down to how they word things on their app - the blog posts make me laugh and it's really relateable and theres none of this pompus selling vocab used.
We will be booking our next trip via this app shortly, that's for sure!
